TFoTT: Part 10

“In the south of the continent beyond the Red Tipped Mountains there are three nations which share the entirety of what is commonly referred to as The Jungle lands. Two of the three nations are simple groupings of large tribes kept together by the strongest tribe leader. The third however rules over its people much like a northern nation. It is organized and follows the whims of its Queen leader. Despite the third being a Queendom, the Jungle Lands are thought to be less civilized and less advanced than the Seven Northern Nations. It is known that a majority of the tools and weapons used are made from Bone, Stone, and Wood. ”

“Did you hear?” Mai lightly tapped and pressed onto Hana’s shoulders trying to stir her from rest.

“Wha, huh? I’m up… I’m” Hana yawns while rubbing her eyes, “…awake.” Hana moves around under the sheets “Who did what now?”

TFoTT: Part 9

 “The Soldiers of Nilam are all equipped with polished banded metal plates that move and protect vital areas while providing some maneuverability unlike the rigid armor breastplates of the day. Officers in the Nilam military all have blue cloaks that are stylized by rank and command. The Nilam Castle Guard has a silver lion on their cloaks and shields where as the regular army symbol is just silver bands.”

“So the festival is finally here, it is tomorrow right is it not?”

“Zelm, you should already know that answer; however, it is tomorrow. Aren’t you overseeing the festival fireworks display?”

TFoTT: Part 8

“Vidarr is the Warrior of the Forest; it is the largest Kingdom in the world. It holds the oldest forests as well as the largest forests. Due to its large size as a Kingdom it has been the most militant to sustain its land and protect its resources. In the Vidarr armies the soldiers are fitted with a bronze like metal which is comparable to the other kingdoms metals but leaves the armor to have a brownish color. Coupled with leather and green fabrics the Army often times seems to blend into their native forests and fields.”

“Sorry Lieutenant my hands are tied they are after all royal orders.” The newly appointed Temporary Captain of the Guard shrugs his shoulders.

TFoTT: Part 7

“The Principality of Aire was once believed to be larger than the Kingdom of Nilam. Lore within one of the older Kingdom states of Aire recalls a land to the south east that was once attached. No Such land has been found it has be hypothesized that the ocean swallowed the land whole or that it detached and started drifting into the Ocean following currents.”

Sho takes a sip from his mug. “So are we really off duty till after the tournament?”

“Yes we are, though we are suspended it comes with pay and we still hold our ranks it’s just unless something happens were off duty. We are to not participate in daily tasks and regular duties it isn’t all that bad Sho.”

FLASHBACK: Ancestry of the Fate of Three Trees

THE ORIGIN OF the Fate of Three Trees:



Original "TFoTT" started its life as a short story (two pages) for a middle school project; titled Century Duel. The general story was over a tournament that took place in real life among friends and while reality it was just fun the story of Century Duel tried to make it more dramatic and seem more serious than what it really was.

Early in high school I had started several projects outside of work although much of my writing time then was devoted to poetry, now it is writing stories and worlds. One of those projects started was called Fate and it was based on Century Duel, and took characteristics from the people of real life that I equated to characters. Within Fate I tried to create a world specifically for that story taken it further from reality. Though Fate is an incomplete story; I later returned to it to add pieces of it until i stopped due to school, work, another project(which had most of my focus from high school and into college) and illness.

After my one project i finished, i decided not to continue Fate but to work on re-envisioned story and story world. I realized after reading through fate that it rambled, it went on and on over things not essential to the story and contained way too much summary in my idea, This story is not one of my bets works or better ones since it was written during high school but since there is truth from for me at least i do enjoy looking over it from time to time so i hope those that do read it that there is some entertainment from it for you.

TFoTT: Part 6

 

“The Geir army blackens their armor following tradition. It’s a great contrast to the bright yellow cloth they use, and when alone it makes them blend into their cities dark stone building materials. Some of the Generals of Geir have been known to wear gold accented/decorated filigree blacked armor.”

            “Princess do you honestly think it is wise to make Sho unable to perform his duties prior to the tournament. I don’t think I have seen him happy outside of ‘fulfilling his duty’. Considering I am one of his best friends that’s… saying something.”

TFoTT: Part 5

"There are six minor Kingdoms in the world. There is the Principality of Aire, east of Nilam and Geir, there is the Principality of Habek which resides in the center of the World and there is the Principality of Annon which is west of the Kingdom of Geir and south of the Kingdom of Vidarr. These three Kingdoms operate in various manners and are collections of smaller city states or Kingdoms.

The remaining three Kingdoms are thought to be complete Kingdoms and not much is known about them they are typically referred to as the Jungle Kingdoms, and their lands as the Jungle Lands. The Maultak Mountain range blocks land travel to the three Jungle Kingdoms, and the ocean around the Kingdoms are too shallow for the majority of the ships from the Northern seven Kingdoms."

"Geir is the Kingdom of spears, and have traded many of their crafted weapons throughout the Kingdoms. Situated south of the Kingdom of Nilam, many of their lands are in a temperate zone holding a tree that only resides there in vast quantity. The Bamaroo Tree’s wood when processed make flexible and strong spears and staffs unlike any other kind of wood used."

 "Tullia is the Northern most Kingdom as well as the smallest between the four major Kingdoms. It is a heavily mountainous and forested region, which only holds two seasons spring and winter. Because of the longer winters the people tend to be hardier and hold less numbers per towns and cities that even women go on hunts, assist with farming and even War when needed..."

“Sir is it true, Nilam is hosting the tournament? And we only have little over a week to prepare?” the man that just question stood their silently as other advisers shifted waiting for the Lead General or the King to speak.

“Why yes it’s true and that’s being announced to the public later today, but why would that be a concern?” The Lead General looked to the King and then back at adviser Skye.

TFoTT part 2

“Nilam, the capital city of the Nilam kingdom, is most notable for its blue hues, to the point its roofs are shingled in blue painted wood pieces. The Nilam Kingdom works in artisan dyes, pigments, blue-gray clay and wine all exported to other kingdoms. The cloth accompanied on its knights and warriors are dyed blue from the flowers Saphil, of which the fruits are made into a blue tinged wine…”

The Fate of Three Trees pt.1

                The Fate of Three Trees

“To cease major hostilities and keep fighters and warriors the world over from causing mass havoc after the last major war a martial foundation was created. The foundation crossing as many border or boundaries it could decided the best action was to hold a tournament once every five years .Tournament entrance was welcome to any of age persons, regardless of sex, or style as it was meant to release violent energies and to show pride of  the Kingdoms.”

“The warriors compete to measure their fighting skills, their fighting spirit and their pride. Four active kingdoms host the tournament switching location, and holding festivals unique to each kingdom; bringing unique interpretations.  The combat is fierce as most means are allowed (including metal weapons), deaths have occurred from these tournaments so do not enter unless you and yours are prepared…”
